Dating back to the "Tested Era" (1920-1940), Second Cut Stag® knives are among the rarest and most highly prized by Case Collectors. The origins of Second Cut Stag® are somewhat of a mystery. The name Second Cut is derived from the piece of antler that would remain after the outside layer with the Stag bark texture had been removed. Those interior pieces, the second cut from the antler, would then have a jigging pattern cut into them. More frequently, exterior pieces of Stag, which didn't have enough character, were jigged, often by hand to create Second Cut Stag®. W.R Case & Sons Cutlery Company is proud to introduce a new family of Second Cut Stag®. Eight of our most popular patterns, including the Baby Butterbean, RussLock®, and Small Texas Toothpick - with handles crafted from Second Cut jigged Genuine Stag, featuring the diamond shield. Mirror polished Tru-Sharp(tm) surgical steel blades also carry the Second Cut logo. Production of each knife has been limited to 250 pieces, so these are sure to be as treasured as those Second Cut Stag® knives from generations past. Each of these spectacular knives feature mirror polished Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades honed to a razor's edge.
