This is a very nice lot of one antique solid sterling silver souvenir spoon from Catalina Island, California, and two very old Catalina postcards (more info on cards and spoon below). Catalina is a resort island and popular cruise ship destination off the coast of Southern California, not far from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. It started being popular as a resort in about the 1880's and still is today. Spoon: The spoon is about 5-1/4" and is in very good condition. It is probably from about the 1890's. It is a well-made solid silver spoon that is figural - it has a goldwashed shell-shaped bowl with "Catalina" hand-engraved in it. It has a fish-shaped handle, front and back, with a scaly critter in the waves who looks like he's smiling. It has a tiny bit of very light surface scratching and tarnish, not much. Marked with "Sterling" with the old H in a pennant hallmark for Watson. It weighs about 17.5 grams or .62 ounce (.56 Troy oz.) on my digital point scale. POSTCARDS Also included:
