GOOD to VERY GOOD CONDITION This sale is for a vintage hardback edition entitled “ Catriona ,” a sequel to “Kidnapped,” subtitled “The Memoirs of the Further Adventures of David Balfour at Home and Abroad, in Which are Set Forth His Misfortunes Anent the Appin Murder; His Troubles with Lord Advocate Grant; Captivity on the Bass Rock; Journey into Holland and France; and Singular Relations with James More Drummond or MacGregor, a Son of the Notorious Rob Roy, and His Daughter Catriona,” Written by Himself, and Now Set Forth, by Robert Louis Stevenson , with a frontispiece portrait of Catriona. It was published by Cassell and Company, Limited, of London , in 1908. This book, a sequel to “Kidnapped,” continuing the story which centred around the case of the Appin Murder which took place in the tumultuous aftermath of the '45' Jacobite rising, and it resulted in what is often held to be a notorious miscarriage of justice. Continuing the adventures of David Balfour, this novel introducing the characters James More Drummond or MacGregor, a son of the notorious Rob Roy, and his daughter, Catriona MacGregor Drummond. The book measures 6.5 inches x 4.25 inches and has 376 pages, which are gilt edged to the top rims. The book is in very good condition for its age, internally neat and clean, with minor wear/bumps and is a little grubby
