This is a cdv of a Civil War Naval Officer. He is listed on the front as Lieut. Comdr. J.D. Clarke, U.S.N. He is wearing a mourning ribbon on his left arm which was associated with the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln. The photographer is Fowler of Auburn, New York. Upper right corner “soft”.
