Safety lamp by CEAG of Barnsley, identical with their miners' lamps, but also used by fire brigades because of their spark-proof qualities. CEAG lamps are solidly constructed of copper and brass, and designed for use in difficult and wet conditions. I believe the batteries are no longer manufactured (original battery present) but it is possible to carry out a small internal modification to enable use with other batteries. This one is probably inter-war. Known provenance, part of a sale of fire service antiques and collectibles (see my other items).
