The manuscript text and music (six lines of music on a five-line stave) were beautifully executed by hand over 450 years ago!!! This leaf measures 560 x 365 mm (22 x 14 3/8").ONE ILLUMINATED INITIAL IN RED WITH VIOLET INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR PENWORK; ONE EXCEPTIONAL KNOT WORK (CADEL) INITIAL IN DARK BROWN INK HEIGHTENED WITH YELLOW.This leaf continues prayers for the Celebration of Christmas Day. The knot-work "B" begins: "Beata que..." (Blessed is she who believed, because there has been a fulfilment of all the things spoken to her by the Lord). The illuminated "B" begins: "Beata viscera..." (Blessed is the womb of the Virgin Mary, which bore the Son of the eternal Father...).This leaf originates from Spain, c. 1525 -this leaf is from the Winter Volume (pars hiemalis) which comprised the Offices of Advent, Christmastide and Epiphany.
