Celestron CGE Mount with Tripod and Polar Scope Designed to carry anything up to the C14 (about 25kg/50lb) this is a big mount. An Observatory class Computerized German Equatorial. It about as big a mount you can assemble in an evening, although the components are not light. Uses the Losmandy type dovetail. Used originally with a C11 -but not used for 4-5 years. Tested and it is working fine- Alignment and goto all seem fine. Despite its monster size makes a decent mount for astrophotography when properly polar aligned. The tripod and counterweights have been in the the garage and so have surface corrosion (see picture) The mount has been stored mostly indoors (in its original transport box) it is in generally good condition with marks from use and one or 2 bubbles in the paintwork (see photos). The communications cables (which connect between the electronics module and the mount ) have been modified with a soldered connection between the cable shield and the body of the mount to provide a better ground than Celestron originally designed (see photo). A well known issue with this otherwise excellent mount. Without this this very expensive mount has a tendency to skew randomly at the most annoying moments. You get The mount Moded communication cables 2x25lb counterweights (not shown- but tatty -paint loss- but work fine as counterweights) Polar finder with illumination battery pack. The handset is unused and with the latest software (as of 4 years ago) Manual Original transport box (see photo) Tripod (huge and heavy). You can hook this into a computer and control remotely. I'll try to find the Nextremote cable. Also accepts an autoguider for astrophotography. Missing 1x washer from the bolts to attach the electronic module to the mount (replacement a few pence) The polar finder is a bit grubby and could do with the optics cleaning - and there is a chip in the glass - which doesn't impact its use- all working including the illuminator. Buyer can collect or I will ship for £50 (I will rebate any difference if its cheaper- it will not be). NO power supply or power cable (it takes a standard 12V connector )- I am also selling a suitable power supply.
