We are pleased to offer several model yacht fittings thatare suitable for the restoration of vintage boats (please see our other items). This auction is for a # 568 Centering Line Anchor that works with any Braine type self steering quadrant. This unit is suitable for any size boats with hulls in the 22âe to 60âe range. This device mounts on the deck behind a Braine Steering Quadrant and holds one end of an elastic centering line. The function of the centering line is to return the steering quadrant (and hence the rudder) to the central position after the sheet lines have made steering corrections. This unit features a larger diameter screw upon which the roller rotates and two smalle diameter screws for deck mounting the unit. The roller pivot screw is mounted into the deck or king plank and can be replaced with a bold for through deck mounting. The unit measures approximateily 1 1/8" long, 3/4" wide and 3/8" tall. Like original vintage fittings, these are hand made of polished brass. They have not been lacquered as most of our customers want their fittings to develop a brass patina to match remaining fittings.
