This auction is for an autographed photo featuring VIC ELFORD at the wheel of the CHAPARRAL 2J Can Am racing 1970 "The genius of Jim Hall could very well be summed up in the Chaparral 2J CanAm. Called the "SUCKER CAR" or the "VACUUM CLEANER" it was feared by the competition and very soon outlawed for technical reasons. The "SUCKER CAR" USED A SEPARATE SNOWMOBILE ENGINE TO POWER A COUPLE OF FANS THAT WOULD CREATE A VACUUM UNDER THE CAR AND SUCK IT DOWN TO THE TRACK . JACKY STEWART drove it once, VIC ELFORD raced it the rest of the year. They were the only ones to drive it. This photo is from the Vic Elford collection. It is 5 x 7 inches (13 x 18 cm).
