I USE A SHURE V-15 CARTRIDGE TIED FOR MONO FOR MY MONO 45'S TO MINIMIZE NOISE YOUR RECORD COULD SOUND DIFFERENT USING A STEREO CARTRIDGE You can hear a clip from the top side (at 64k) You can hear a clip from the flip side (at 64k) (Need I mention that your record will sound much better than these low-fi files?) PLEASE NOTE: Chess-Checker-Cadet 45's from 1967-1970 are much less than stellar pressings. Not only do the majority exhibit somesurface noise, they also attract dust and mildew after decades of sitting. It's almost rather mysterious, since NO other label in general has these issuesfrom this time period. I will do my best to visually grade these and even though I will clean your disc before shipping, you may still find that additional surface noise on this label just simply comes with the territory...particularly in the lead-in and lead-out areas. These are items from my collection of nearly 40,000 promo singles, LP's & CD's from the 60's thru the 90's that I was fortunate to acquire from doing 37 years of on-air Rock Radio. All of my records are guaranteed original pressings. No boots or re-issues. In the 80's I advertised and auctioned off thousands of records in Goldmine magazine under the name of Hemp's Hits. The most important thing you need to know, is that to the absolute best of my knowledge, nearly all of the records I list, unless otherwise noted, have never ever been played on a turntable. These records were sorted, stored, moved a few times, and then stored again for decades. Some carefully, others were not. All of my gradings are strictly visual, and more often than not, quite generous. However, because of various quality in pressings, I cannot guarantee that the pressings themselves will be noise-free. That comes with the territory. Many 50's (e.g. Chess, Vee-Jay, etc.) & 60's pressings, especially the small independent labels, were pressed "on-the-cheap" and are somewhat noisy even at NrMint. I will not play these records for any reason. (Unless noted) the record you receive will be like new and unplayed.Visual grading is for disc only. Company sleeves (when available) are in various conditions. Sorry...I do not create audio clips on request. If t is no audio clip attached, I don't have one. MY GRADING SCALE (very similar to the Goldmine standard) NM (Near Mint): Record will show no serious scuffs or scratches in the playing area. May have minor scuffs on edges from decades of storage, or a small scuff, scratch or paper scuff on playing area. It's near mint, not mint (which would be 'sealed' to me). T should be no audible distractions. M- (Near Mint minus): A scuff or two or light scratch or two on either or both sides that may be heard. VG+: Scuffs & some minor scratches in the playing area. Some will most likely be heard. VG: Many scuffs or scratches that will be heard but record should still play fine. Record grading is subjective.
