Charles Darwin (1809-1882) was an English naturalist perhaps best known for his theory of evolution by way of natural selection. Botany being the subject in which he received the most formal education, Darwin collected, studied and was thoroughly captivated by plants throughout his life; as many feel that evolution is most easily seen in plant life, it makes sense that Darwin would further his theory in this title, The Different Forms of Flowers on Plants of the Same Species. Condition notes: Good. This octavo, measuring 8 inches by 5&1/4 inches, is bound in ¾ leather over marbled paper covered boards. The spine partially lacking; however, the text and illustrations are in very good condition. This is a Good working copy of Darwin’s The Different Forms of Flowers on Plants of the Same Species.
