CHARLES EAMES ZENITH 2ND PRODUCTION HERMAN MILLER VENICE SALMON LOW LOUNGE FIBERGLASS SHELL CHAIR 1952 DESIGN: An extremely clean and vibrant second production 1952 Herman Miller Zenith plastics Fiberglass "LAX" Low style lounge shell Chair designed by Charles Eames . A rare lightly mellowed "Salmon" colored shell with untypical low style solid Zinc "X" rod base, all unmolested and well preserved in sublime condition. Bearing a fully intact and rare "shipped from Venice, California" decal underneath - this label was used only for a brief period of time in 1952 when Zenith plastics was no longer under manufacturing contract but the production of the shells had not yet begun at Herman Miller Factories in Zeeland, Mich (1953). During that interval of time the remaining Zenith inventory was shipped directly from the Eames' Venice studio location under the HM name. CONDITION : This extremely vivid 2nd production Salmon colored shell chair is in outstanding condition, completely intact and fully functional. The fiberglass Zenith shell is super clean with no obvious chips or cracks with consistent vibrant translucent fibers with no apparent discoloring or fading.
