Mt Pleasant GULLAH SWEETGRASS BASKET This Sweetgrass basket was made in Mt Pleasant SC 20 years ago. It is still bright and firm and you can still smell the sweetgrass. It has beautiful pine needle knots accenting the sides and top. On the bottom is sewn a fabric tag that reads : (the tag also has the signature "Dorothy Washington 9-24-93" in blurred red ink) Sweetgrass Baskets Handwoven by Dorothy Washington and members of her family. Baskets are sold Monday through Saturday at the corner of Broad and Meeting streets, Charleston, S.C.
