An outstanding face jug by Catawba Valley potter, Charles "Charlie" Lisk, Vale, NC. It bears a fantastic blue and green swirl on a porcelain clay body. Check out the incised eyebrows and mustache along with his double "row" of upper teeth. A mid-1990's face jug which truly portrays the extremely unique character of Charlie Lisk face jugs. Charlie worked as an apprentice for Burlon Craig (1914-2002) during the early 80's. His work is among the most highly collectible traditional pottery in the South and is sold primarily at lottery style kiln sales held at his home approximately three times a year. Face jug is 9 1/4" tall and stamped "CL" center front above eyebrows. China plate teeth and cobalt pupils... What a jug ! - MINT CONDITION ~ Thanks for Looking.... Please View Our Other Auctions.
