This cute little electric light is only about 5 "" tall in all brass. Chase produced the Binnacle from 1933-1939, but this version with the frosted "hourglass" tube was made only in 1935 & '36 so it is harder to find. It was designed by Dr. Albert Reimann who is known for his unique and rare Chase early candle holders. The lamp works well and has the original switch, plug, and cord. The plug has a chip at the rim, but has a unique raised design of acorns and leaves in the plastic so I did not want to replace the cord and plug. The brass is in overall good condition with some variations in tone due to aging and loss of the original clear coating that Chase normally applied to it's brass items. It has the Chase mark on the bottom. For a more traditional appearance, the bulb in this lamp could be replaced with something like a Flicker Flame Candle light bulb. Some are shown on .
