Featured in this auction is a very hard to find, truly-scarce 1930's Halloween Tambourine Noise Maker, display-quality piece made by J Chein and Co. Old Halloween items are wonderful collectibles and this early tin tambourine noisemaker from the 1930s is in VERY GOOD+++ condition! It was made by J. Chein & Company Made In U.S.A. It is about 7 inches in diameter. The back looks great and all the metal discs for the tambourine are intact and work well. Great gloss still, hard to believe this thing is ALL ORIGINAL. I found this in the attic closet tucked away at an old estate. The house had been unoccupied for many years. This thing is the real deal! The back shows an area of discoloration, this is a factory defect, a little black paint from the front and side got on the back during the making, these were toys not fine furniture. This old noisemaker is in great condition and features outstanding graphics that include a little boy and his clown friend holding a Large carved pumpkin and walking towards a little girl all the while scaring the little girl. A ghost stands behind them observing the scene. A crescent man-in-the-moon hangs above. A flying owl, a raven, and stars further accentuate this scene. This noisemaker has amazing graphics around the rim as well which includes flying bats, black cats, Chinese lanterns, owls, crescent moons, black stars and even a pentagram. These Halloween illustrations represent classic 1930s graphic design at its very best by J. Chein & Co. Very little flaws in this toy tambourine. Slight bending on the face, but imagine this made to bang on toy is around still after all these years. People just didn't save these things, it was a seasonal toy and got misplaced and lost and damaged and thrown away. These probably didn't cost much in the 30's and children abused them too. Well this one survived, don't lose it by waiting around, it will go to the highest bidder at auction end. NO RESERVE!! Don't miss out on this rare piece of vintage American Made Quality. They don't make like this anymore. This is a neat piece to display at Halloween. hard to replace. I'll pack it well for it's journey in a Prio rity Mail Box, well wrapped. I actually had 3 originally but one has already been sold, leaving the last two. Both tambourines are in great shape, but the one I listed, not the one listed here, is missing one of its metal discs, where it is supposed to have two of the disks in all four slots. Still works fine and is hard to notice, the graphic Halloween scene more than makes up for that. Here is your chance, snooze and you lose!
