This is a stunning rare Chester hallmark for 1917 sterling silver Scottish Cairngorm citrine stag head brooch. I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found. The central stone is a lovely facetted golden citrine from the Cairngorm mountain range which has been fully tested by a local jeweller to confirm it is a genuine citrine. The brooch has a full set of rare hallmarks with the wheat sheeves for Chester assay office, date letter R for 1917, the lion for sterling silver and makers Alld. The length of the brooch is 3.5 cm and the pin and C clasp are in good working condition and original.
