CHICKEN SHACK – Accept Chicken Shack. Walhalla WH 90322. German release. FACTORY SEALED CD. Originally issued in 1970. This issue 2004 with 13 bonus tracks, 4 singles tracks and 9 tracks from BBC sessions 1968-1970. MEMBERS: Stan Webb, Paul Raymond, Andy Silvester, and Dave Bidwell. TRACKS: Diary Of Your Life, Pocket, Never Ever, Sad Clown, Maudie, Telling Your Fortune, Tired Eyes, Some Other Time, Going Round, Andalucian Blues, You Knew You Did You Did, and She Didn’t Use Her Loaf. BONUS TRACKS : It’s Okay With Me Baby (1967, single a-side), When My Left Eye Jumps (1967, single b-side), Hey Baby (1968, single b-side), and I’d Rather Go Blind (1969, single a-side). Tears In The Wind, Night Is When It Matter, Telling Your Fortune, You Knew You Did, Midnight Hour, Hey Baby, Things You Put Me Through, Get Like You Used To Be, and I’d Rather Go Blind (BBC Sessions 1968-1970). DESCRIPTION: Their fourth and last album with Blue Horizon, and the last with Paul Raymond, Andy Silvester and Dave Bidwell, released in July 1970. Paul Raymond and Dave Bidwell moved on to Savoy Brown. This is the last of the Blue Horizon albums to be re-issued on CD. It certainly showed a further marked change in style, probably reflecting the fact that quite a few of the tracks were joint Webb/Raymond compositions. Interestingly Blue Horizon publicity material for Accept ran the slogan "If you think Chicken Shack just plays the blues you haven't been paying attention." And to be sure this is the most rockin’ Chicken Shack album up to this point. Besides great and underrated Accept album the addition of the singles tracks is a nice touch. The BBC tracks are (or should be) the icing on this cake. No question, they nicely bookend this period of the bands existence with these great performances, some featuring Christine McVie (nee Perfect). However, a poorly executed editing job at the beginning and end of these tracks somewhat diminishes their overall impact. Until the next reissue this will do fine. All CDs that do not come in an outer packaging wrap are inspected by me prior to shipping. It is not unusual to find small imperfections in the disc, especially on European manufactured CDs; these small imperfections do no effect the play of the disc. If, for any reason, a disc does not play it is fully guaranteed by me and is returnable for refund or replacement (see my return policy below for more details). Also an unsealed jewel case may show light signs of warehouse/transit storage wear. If a jewel case is received by me broken, it will be replaced with a new jewel case before shipping.
