Offered now is a Chilton Pen, circa 1932, in the lapis/turquoise color. This is a large (not oversize) model measuring just over 5 inches long capped. The inner cap diameter is 1/2 of an inch wide. The pen is a plunger/blow hole filler that still creates a vacuum (I haven't tested the bladder). The pen is devoid of cracks, chips or engravings and the pen has a nice, even color. The Chilton imprint is nice and deep and reads: Chilton Pen, Long Island City, New York, Pat. Pend., Made in USA. The nib is stamped: Chilton Pen Boston. The nib is large, medium to broad tip with a huge chunk of iridium. There are some surface scratches and brassing on the triple cap bands. Surprisingly, very little brassing on the clip, save a little speck on the ball, and the pat pend imprint is legible on top of the clip. This pen is in very good condition that will need only a little T.L.C. to get to show room quality. And since I'm not going to do the restoration myself, we'll have a NO RESERVE auction for this truly collectible Chilton model!
