CHINA 1979 CAMELIA SET S 1530-39 THIS IS A SET OF 10 STAMPS ISSUED BY CHINA (Scott 1530-39) IN 1979. THE STAMPS SHOW VARIETIES OF CAMELIAS, A SHOWY BLOSSOM THAT BLOOMS IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY. My Mo ther collected stamps for years and it is all my fault. In 1958 Life magazine ran a cover issue on stamp collecting and my mother said, "Those are nice, I'd like some." I went and bought $5 worth from a stamp store and put them in an album. For the next 45 years, my mother collected stamps along with everything else. Condition: MINT NEVER HINGED Shipping is via USPS 1st class flat rigid envelope rate, which is a higher rate than a regular letter. International postage is at buyer's risk unless registered mail is requested. We gladly combine items to reduce shipping costs. !!! She was a wonderful, cheerful, hardworking, generous woman who had collected things of beauty wherever she went. Some items were expensive antiques or rare items, others were merely beautiful objects that made her smile or caught her fancy. She also was a generous patron of many regional New England artists who were just starting their careers. She occupied every minute of her day and had many hobbies. In addition she was a fabulous cook and pastry chef; she and her husband ( 'the Chef' ) ran private clubs where she did all the baking. Her husband doted on her and bought her many beautiful things including a substantial amount of jewelry. She was a beautiful woman and he loved to see her wearing the jewelry he gave her. When he died, she never looked at another man although there were those who tried to win her favor. She lived for over 90 years and touched many lives.
