Up for bids is this lovely 1800's China Head Doll! She stands 19" tall and her head and shoulder plate are in fantastic condition. She does have some minor rubs on her head (paint loss) that you can clearly see in the photos, but there are no chips, cracks or repairs on her! Her shoulder plate/head have been carefully and properly sewn onto her apparently new cloth body. The body is clean and without damage. Her hands are delicate and not chipped and her feet have boots on them with tiny little buttons up the sides. Her face paint is excellent, with delicate brows and a sweet rosey mouth. She has one tiny factory blemish on her upper neck as you can see in the photos, which looks much like a mole and gives her excellent character, as well as another on her neck. Both specks are very tiny. She does have nose hole dots. There is a "4" on the back of her shoulder plate. Her clothing appears to be partially old with tiny little pin tucks. She is wearing bloomers as well as a very pretty full slip. Her slip has row after row of beautiful pin tucks and it is sewn to the waistband of the bloomers which works really well to keep the bloomers in place! I believe the bottom of the slip and the bloomers are quite old and someone lovingly added a top piece to the skirt of the slip to make it a full slip at some point.
