This is a truly stunning Chinese piece. It is a beautiful white glass Snuff Bottle with a painted enamel scene of a dragonfly and butterfly, flying over plants. This paintings goes the full way around the bottle. It has been finished off with a lovely stopper. This bottle is also signed underneath. The Snuff Bottle stands approx. 2.25 inches Tall and is about 1 inch at it's widest. Please Read: Guyuexuan - "Ancient Moon Pavilion" is the translation for this style of bottle. It is named after the Imperial workshop that first created the method for making these bottles. Glass bottles are painted with enamels then fired in a kiln. What makes this process unique is that t is only a few degree difference between the temperature required to fuse the enamels to the glass and the temperature at which the bottle melts and collapses. This would make a wonderful addition to a Snuff Bottle Collection, a Miniature Collection or just a valued addition to anyone's home..........
