CHINESE EXPORT 18th CENTURY CHIEN LUNG PLATE Offered for sale a beautiful 18th century Chien Lung plate in a "Famile Rose" design. This dish is 9" wide. The overall condition of the plate is fine but there is a 1&1/4" hair line crack from the outer rim inward. You have to search to see it. There are some worn areas on the inside thin ribbon that frames the floral pattern in the bowl of the plate but that is to be expected on a piece over two hundred years old. The plate is one of a pair (the other being listed here also) that was bought from a Long Island estate where much fine Chinese Export had been collected. For the past number of years this piece, and its companion piece, have been displayed at each end of a mantle in the master bedroom of an antebellum home in Alabama.
