ALWAYS READ THE CONDITION DESCRIPTION AND EXAMINE PICTURES ABOVE BEFORE BIDDING. Here we have a very finely carved chinese canton export profusely carved card case, depicting courtier scenes, a sage riding a horse, bats, birds, dragons, pagodas and trees. There is so much going on, very deeply carved. Only one tiny loss (see pics), and natural age splitting, and wear commensurate with age. Also warped on opening, however cannot be seen when lid is on. Does not detract from the obvious rareness and beauty of this item, or the skill which has gone into making it. Fits approx 5 small business cards in. Just look at the amazing detail. This case is for sale elsewhere so I reserve the right to cancel the listing early if there are no bids on it. measures approx 9.2cm tall5.4cm wide1.6cm thickweighs an amazing 67g approx. Very solid. You will notice that most o f my items are pretty rare, or are collections of one type of thing , as I have personally collected these items over about 18 years.
