Salesman Sample Hand Carved Wood Chippendale Style Chair w/ Embroidered Needlework CushionThis is an exquisite salesman sample hand carved Chippendale style armchair in perhaps cherry or Mahogany wood . The hand carving is a very delicate ornate design on back of chair, arms and legs which have ball and claw feet in front, rounded feet in back. The cushion is a floral embroidered needlework pattern.This is not doll house furniture but the larger scale often used by artisans as their master project or as salesman's samples where a potential buyer could then order a full scale piece from the miniature sample. .Measures 20" high by 13" wide by approx. 10" deep.Great display piece! In good, pre-owned condition with some marks in the wood finish. one of the front legs does show a hairline crack through it. I am unable to tell if this is a repair or somethig else. I have taken pictures for you to decide. There are marks from age and storage.I was lucky to find an estate of a 93 year old collector of everything. Some of the rarest stuff I have ever seen!
