At Last: A Christmas in the West Indies Author : Charles Kingsley. Publisher : Harper & Brothers, Publishers, New York. Illustrated with engravings . Binding : Cloth. Date : 1871. Pages : 465 Measurements : Approx 7.5 x 5.25 inches. Condition : Good. Special Attributes : 1st edition. Antique travel book from the author of Westward, Ho! about his journeys to the Caribbean. Strong binding. Gilded lettering. Gold palm tree on spine. Embossed borders and publisher's logo on back cover. Signs of wear to the front cover, with additional rubbing to back. Light fraying to spine heads and corners. Interior also with occasional wear. Frontispiece has been glued to the endpaper; pages before that seem to be missing. Dark stain to tissue guard and edge of frontispiece. Altogether, though, a rare early 1870s book in a highly aesthetic binding. Full-page and inline engravings profusely distributed throughout.
