I have collected cabbing rough for several years to supply my wife, Maryrose, with slabs. We first bought a 5 pound block of amethyst lace on Ebay with the intention of taking it to a local rock shop and having it slabbed. Finding the price prohibitive we found an 18 inch slabbing saw, again on Ebay, and drove to Wisconsin and brought it back in the trunk of our car. Things have worked out great except we have piles of rough encroaching farther and farther into our workroom. For most types of rough Maryrose needs only one slab of a particular material. The pieces I have accumulated range in weight from less than a pound to more than 30 pounds. Thus, we have a very large quantity of surplus material that we intend to sell on Ebay. I'm starting with only a few slabs each week and intend to increase my listing as I gain experience and develop a customer base. I have some very nice rough and hope you will add me to your favorites list. Chrysocolla This Chrysocolla is from Peru . It is a hydrous copper silicate with some quartz, malachite and a few spots of red cuprite. It is a conglomerate of brilliant, intense colors. This slab has enough quartz that it is quite sound and will cut without fracturing or crumbling. It takes a bright polish. The slab is 1/4 th inch thick. Flat rate shipping $5.00 in US.
