This unusual and rare music box is in the form of a church organ with copper pipes. At one time I think this was a cigarette dispenser as there is an elaborate mechanism inside that pushes cigarettes up on sticks through the organ pipes. I think the mechanism may still work with some adjustments but at present it just serves as a nice music box. The other very unusual point about this music box is that the mechanism is operated by the organ keyboard, you press down the top layer of keys to start the music, this runs for a controlled time and shuts of, self regulating. It has a winder key on the reverse. The box can be unscrewed from the rear to access the inner workings. Thorens movement. Plays Invitation To The Waltz Period 1950's Condition of the wood is very good with nice age patina, the copper pipes have aged with a good colour, the keyboards have a type of paper covering, these are intact but are now showing ageing. The music winds and plays a lovely tune with good tone as you would expect from Thorens. Reduced postage is available on combined purchases wherever possible.
