Up for auction an Very Nice and rather Scarce PRE-1910 W m SHAKESPEARE JR. CO. "UNIVERSAL REEL - NO.2 - QUAD" 80-YARD NON LEVEL-WIND CASTING REEL. One of a series of quadruple-multiplying reels produced prior to 1910 by the W m Shakespeare Jr. Company of Kalamazoo, Mich. Tailplate is stamped "Shakespeare Universal Reel" near the top and "No.2 - 80 Yds. - Quad" at the bottom. Faceplate reads "W m SHAKESPEARE JR. Kalamazoo, Mich., while under the foot is stamped "80 YDS.". Comes equipped with strong Reel is in Fine to Very Fine condition for these, showing moderate wear and some brassing. Still displays quite nicely. Works perfectly and runs as smooth & quiet as the day it was built. A very desireable example of these early models from the W m Shakespeare Jr. Company and a reel that is becoming quite hard to find. To be sold with a very low starting bid and NO RESERVE. Buyer to pay $7.75 shipping via U.S. Priority Mail, with full insurance and tracking. Payment must be received within 7 days of auction closure.
