Circa 1963 Stan Musial Signed Busch Stadium Retired Number Pennant

Pricing & History
Circa 1963 Stan Musial Signed Busch Stadium Retired Number Pennant. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest hitters baseball has ever seen. Humble and unassuming, "Stan the Man" Musial led the St. Louis Cardinals for twenty-two seasons, winning three World Series during this time. Fourth all-time on the hit list with 3,630, Musial also had considerable pop in his bat, finishing just shy of the 500 Home Run Club. His hits were also the most consistent of any hitter with exactly fifty per cent coming on the road and the other half at home.As a career member of the Cardinals, it is no wonder that the team quickly retired Musial's number "6" in 1963, his final season. Hanging in Busch Stadium for decades was this offered banner. Shaped like a pennant, this large nylon banner with sewn-on number "6" measures about 46" wide across the top grommets and 76" long to the point of the bottom. Exhibits normal wear and staining from years of use. Musial has signed in large 6/10 ink, with bleeding due to the medium it was signed on. Excellent historical piece of an all-time great. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Grade: 0, Service: Appraised, Service No.: 2214446
