Civil War Era 1st Virginia Volunteer Infantry - Belt Buckle and Leather Belt Up for Auction is a Civil War Era Belt and Buckle from the 1st Virginia Volunteer Infantry. The buckle is original heavy brass one piece construction. It has no manufacturer markings. On the front it has the seal of the State of Virginia surronded by their moto "Sic Semper Tyrannis" meaning "Thus to the Tyrants or Death to the Tyrants". I believe the belt is of recent production. It is not vintage. This is a nice "Civil War" or "War Between the States" item. The belt measures 32" to 38" in length (depending on which belt holes you use). Please see photos.
