Dug in Gen. Butler's camp at Bermuda Hundred in Chesterfield County, Virginia, this Civil War bayonet scabbord tip is in decent condition; however, the finial has been pushed into the inside of the scabbord tip body at some point in time. Bermuda Hundred was the site of Union General Benjamin Butler's staging area for his failed 1864 campaign to capture the Confederate capital of Richmond from the south. This scabbord tip would make an excellent addition to any collection.
