New canteens, never owned, never used... one came in from wholesaler with flawed cork, other may have had cork removed by errant school children at Civil War Show on field trip day. Sold as a set. A new cork can easily be slid over the end of one with flawed cork. Cork and chain to replace from canteen missing this part can often be found at historical shows for about 4.00.
