This Chess set was distributedby the Franklin Mint as a monthly purchase to the public. Purchased asa collectable and has never been used. Comes with a certificate of authenticity from the National Historical Society and certified April 7, 1983. T are sixteen brochures that describe each piece in detail with collector box to store them in. Each figure is an original portrait sculpture honoring the heroes of both the North and the South. Made of solid pewter on top of a solid brass pedestal base and embellished with a band of fine enamel color. Comes in a wooden case with blue and grey top. Included are : Ulysses S Grant; Robert E Lee; Clara Barton ;Belle Boyd; William Tecumseh Sherman; Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson; Pierre G.T. Bearegard; George G Meade; Jeb Stuart; Joseph Wheeler; Philip Sheridan; The Stonewall Brigade; The Iron Brigade; Cannon; Mortars. If you have any questions please ask. Excellent condition.
