This is an outstanding Civil War period brown russet leather flap holsterfor a smaller caliber revolver. This smooth, finely made leather holster was formed for a short barrel back-up sidearm like a Colt or Manhattan Pocket Model revolver. The holster measures 10" by 4" with a barrel length of 5-7". The flap is missing its finial and there is no plug. It has a belt loop on the back that measures 2-3/4” across. There is an old museum file number painted on the back. If you look at the front you can see the outline of a pistol with an attached loading lever. Check out my other items ! Be sure to add me to your favorites list !
