This is a beautiful piece of American History. These Civil War discharge papers really are in exceptionally good condition despite how bad the picture makes them look. T is foxing or water stain in the middle of the form and is glorified by the flash in my camera. If you are not completely satisfied with the condition of these papers I will refund your payment immediately with shipping costs. The man (Edward Murray of Ireland) was under the command of Captain W. (or M?) N. Lyset. He was discharged because of physical disability (which was probably occurred during the war). He enlisted on the fifteenth day of July 1861 in Portland Maine, and was discharged on the 6th day of March 1861. On a second page to the form it goes on to break down his stipend of money for each purpose ( for his clothing, food ration for each of the 27 days it would take him on horseback to get home). These papers would look wonderful on display in a frame, or would make a great addition to anyone's militaria collection. THIIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION SO HAPPY BIDDING!
