Description This is a dug Civil War Georgia cartridge box plate. A great inexpensive Georgia State seal. Missing a portion of the left side as dug. This does not take away from the state seal and could possibly be repaired if desired. But, we normally leave artifacts as they are dug. The lead filling has been taking out the back and you can see w the iron loops were. A part of the iron bar is still intact. This is a great chance to buy a Georgia State seal plate for a fraction of the value of a perfect one. An early dig from an older collection. Dug in the 1960's from what was the camp of the 18th Georgia Regt. This camp is now all lost to development.
