This is a beautiful brass insignia that has the correct type of T pin on the back to be of the Civil War era. I believe that this may be an early 5th Corps Badge, because a 5th Corps Badge that I also have for sale is a Maltese Cross with the v shaped areas at the ends of the four parts of the cross was a Bannerman version of that badge. But it seems that all other 5th Corp Badges have the ends of the cross straight across. It is also similar to later US Army Medical insignia....And my last thought is that it is some other maybe Fraternal Organization insignia from the Civil War era.It measures 1 1/2" square.Because I don't know for sure what it is, I'm starting it at a very low bid. Here is your chance for a great deal.
