Small double ring CDS from Cedar Rapids, Ioa. used circa 1863 on Civil War Patriotic cover. Cachet is presumably Ethan Allen, due to caption: "In the name of the great Jehovah and Continental Congress." (Ethan Allen in italics) Part of stamp gone, soiling, full backflap and no reductions. Poor stamp on fine cover. TERMS OF SALE: Buyer will receive an invoice via the eBay system. eBay requires a form of electronic payment to be offered. If you desire postal insurance, please request an invoice for the additional $2.10 (this includes coverage to $50.00). Any items that have to be mailed in an envelope larger than standard letter legal size will be higher, as will items to foreign countries. No insurance available to overseas customers. Items are typically mailed within 24 hours of payment, though it is possible to just miss the payment notification until the next day. Payments received Saturday afternoon will result in a Monday dispatch. This seller disagrees with eBay policy to hold sellers responsible for losses through the post office (this is especially egregious when eBay promotes Free shipping).
