3CDVs. one is private daniel althouse of Canada and Pennsylvania. He fought with an independent unit of batterys from pennsylvania. During the Civil War. t were 9 batterys A-I. I believe that he was in battery E. He fought I believe at the battle of Lookout mountain in tennesee. A battle which was between a lot less union troops and a lot more confederate troops. The union troops won. this was in november of 1863 I believe. He was mustered out in 1864. The second CDV is of Lookout Mountain....LuLu Falls. Tennessee. Vintage CDV taken around 1865 or so. Lulu falls is at Lookout mountain. It was a very strategic point this mountain. The third CDV is of Daniels house in Lincoln County, Ontario, Canada I believe. vintage photo. Daniel althouse married carolyn merritt. Daniel was born in 1808Dan was their son. He was born in 1840. He married someone I am not sure of. For a time Daniel and son Dan lived in Lincoln county, ontario, Canada. I believe that Daniel fought in the civil war at lookout mountain in tennessee though I am not absolutely positive. It may have been Dan his son who fought ...but evidence points to Daniel as the one who fought at lookout mountain. ...in at least one civil war record. Dan and wife had at least two children.Victor and aubrey. Victor was born in 1869. Victor married Eliza. Victor and Eliza had children.
