CIVIL WAR SOLDIER NINTH PLATE AMBROTYPE UNION CASE N.R CIVIL WAR SOLDIER NINTH PLATE AMBROTYPE UNION CASE - N.R. Handsome good looking man for 150yrs plus This item looks so good like it was made yesterday Ninth Plate: 2 x 2.5 inches (5 x 6 cm) Daguerreotype Ninth plate in a union case Handsome young gentleman Civil War era. 1860’s Daguerreotype (I'm not sure 100% what type of photo this is but it looks like a dag) of young soldier that is dressed in his military outfit. It is set in a brown embossed ambrotype union case in very excellent condition, with a good working latch that snaps tight. The red velvet embossed relief on the left side is in excellent condition, the gilded frame around the photo is in excellent condition and case measures just around 3” X 2 1/2”. I tried several ways to get a good picture of this photo … not very easy! (just a note; a magnet does not stick to the photo) I just wanted you to see the gentleman close up. Hard to imagine that this photo is over 150 years old! I do not know much about these so I’m being very cautious. Please email question and I will do my best to answer them.
