Civil War Tax stamp R63b; 1863 PA performance Bond Early Matching Usage, EMU Early Matching Usage: Manuscript performance Bond document dated May 1863 in Pennsylvania. Bond of William S. Fluke for $1000 conditional upon his performance as a Justice of the Peace. The stamp is Scott Catalog Number R63b fine centering, manuscript cancelled, affixed to the reverse of the bond. Document size 7.5� by 12� on blue, ruled, wove paper; age toned otherwise very fine condition. Correct rate of 50 cent for the Civil War era tax on surety bonds prior to 8/1/1864 for performance of duties of any office. FREE SHIPPING for additional items within the United States.
