Up for auction are two very old, rare authentic packages of H. L. Tickner & Co. Tobacco. These are being sold as a pair, one of each. They are Minne-Ha-Ha Excelsior Cavendish and Queen Of The West James River Sweet Leaf. A photo of the Minne-Ha-Ha package can be seen in Time Life's Echos Of Glory Arms & Equipment Of The Union on page 222. The packages are about 3 5/8" x 1 7/8" x 5/8" Both of the packages are more than slightly faded due to age from their original mustered yellow color and black lettering but the color can be seen easily on the packages. Both are unopened but t is a piece of tape holding the bottom flap on the rear of the Minne-Ha-Ha. The packages are soiled - stained, I believe water stained on the front and rear of both packages. The Queen of the West package has no tears in the package and the under flaps seem to be sealed fairly tightly. The Minne-Ha-Ha package has what looks like a small tear starting at about the middle right edge of the package and also on the rear of the package but not to the point the package is opened up by it. Please look at the photos and email me with any questions. This would make a great addition to a Civil War or Tobacco collection!
