The Coral Firs pattern is highly desirable, particularly on this quintessentially Art Deco shape. This Clarice plate was designed 1933-38 (see page 242 in Comprehensively Clarice Cliff ) and would look fantastic in any Clarice collection. Condition : exceptional - no staining, chips, cracks, hairlines and the painted enamels are crisp and clear. Normal light crazing to the Honeyglaze. The balance of the pattern is very well done. Back stamp : The Biarritz, Royal Staffordshire, Great Britain, Clarice Cliff, Wilkinson Ltd England . There is also what looks like an impressed date mark for 1937 with a diamond shaped lozenge beneath. The plate measures 9" x 7.5".This is altogether a lovely example of a very popular pattern and shape.
