The Car is now Sold, thank you for all your enquiries, This is a very solid build of a 1936 Mercedes 540K recreation Marlene by Classic Roadsters. Professionally built by a Classic Roadsters mechanic, The chassis was custom fabricated by Classic Roadsters in Fargo North Dakota USA to make their Marlene kit car. It has the Ford Mustang II front end, brakes and axle, also included and installed is a new polished steering rack and pinion. New Monroe gas shocks and chrome chassis components round it off. There are new brakes with stainless steel hoses and a new master cylinder. True knock off Galaxy 100 spoke chrome wheels with brand new Classic 205 x 70R15 tires give it an athletic but time correct look. A very strong remanufactured 289 Ford V8 supplies the power, It also had a recent rebuild on the C4 automatic transmission. The starter motor has had a full rebuild. It starts and runs immediately. The new dual exhaust system with chrome tips gives it a very nice V8 rumble. Block casting number is C5AE-6015E, C630.There is a new Holley carburetor with electric choke and chrome aftermarket performance intake manifold. A Mallory electronic distributor provides the spark through high performance Taylor ignition wires. Fuel is delivered through AN fittings and an Earl's Jr. fuel filter. Everything is kept cool by a new thermostat, electric fan and plate type transmission cooler. Installed are twin 6 circuit fuse panels so there is plenty of space to add some accessories. The interior has Thermo Cool foil faced insulation covered by new gray carpet. The turn downs on the exhaust have been wrapped with header tape. Even the trunk has Thermo Cool under it's new carpet. New leather Scat seats are complemented by custom door inserts made by "2Tall Interiors". The new VDO gauges are surrounded by real mother of pearl and laid out like the original Mercedes 540K. A Mr. Roadster steering column and a 35 Buick steering wheel with a period correct reproduction turn signal complete the look. A Lokar shifter replaces the out of place Mustang shifter you see so often in these cars. Sit in the driver's seat and turn back the clock to 1936! This car has been faithfully reproduced to give you a great cruising automobile. Take a look at the pictures and you will see some of the modifications. The rear fenders have been cut and modified to give the original look, Model A bumpers and tail lights complete it. Bob Drake halogen headlights make the look up front. These are the BIG 10"ones, not the standard Dietz type that are often used. Reproduction vintage motorcycle lights are used for turn signals. The fins light up with the front for visibility from the driver's seat and a really cool look! The bonnet is fastened with quarter turn fittings. The standard white gel coat has been professionally painted with dazzling jet black paint and clear coat by "Best Automotive Painting", at a cost of £1500.00. The accent trim and running board scuff plates are stainless steel not the inexpensive self adhesive plastic chrome molding. A complete build manual and pictures are included. Complete wiring diagrams are included, There is no top but it does have a frame if you want to have one made. My plan was to use it as a classic and parade car. More chrome fittings are included as well as 4 wheel emblems.
