In 1883, Massier moved his operations to Golfe-Juan where he began developing his own luster glaze. His factory-gallery complex became a destination for the elite who summered in Monaco, Nice, and Cannes.Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer was hired on as Massier's primary artistic director in 1887, the same year Massier produced his iridescent, metallic glaze for which he was awarded a gold medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1900.
