Offered is a pristine copy of this charming edition of Clement Moore's immortal Christmas poem best known as 'The Night Before Christmas.' Written in 1822 to charm his children, the poem went on to define Santa as a charming old elf dressed in red, & to define Christmas culture as we know it today. This edition is illustrated by Moore's daughter Mary Ogden, also includes a facsimile of the poem as it was written by Moore in his own hand, & 4- 19th century Thomas Nast illustrations of Santa Claus.
