Heart of Ohio Antique Center America's Biggest and Best Antique Mall Clewell Copper-Clad Pottery, Arts & Crafts This bowl by Clewell has no chips or cracks whatsoever, only slight blemishes to the copper coating on the bottom as would be expected. Clewell was made in limited quantities by Charles Walter Clewell of Canton, Ohio, from 1902 to 1955 . Charles Water Clewell's work is unique. Since he worked alone, his work is likely to remain unique. Pottery was covered with a thin coating of bronze, and then treated to make the bronze turn different colors. Pieces covered with copper, brass or silver were also made. Mr. Clewell's secret formula for blue patinated bronze was burned when he died in 1965. This bowl measures 4 inches diameter with an opening of 2 ½ inches. On the front of the bow l is a “C”. Marked on the bottom: Clewell Canton, Ohio. Every side is shown in the photos.
