Description Cloisonne Pink Enemal Musical Faberge Egg Jewelry Box Add some glamour to your home with this fabulously stylish Cloisonne musical egg. The ornament is decorated with a vibrant combination of pink, blue and green with a beautiful, foliage design studded with pearl-like stations. The egg rests upon a gold-coloured base with three legs and it opens to reveal a red velvet lining and play a sweet melody “Waltz of the Flowers”. Cloisonné, an ancient metalworking technique, is a multi-step enamel process used to produce jewelry, vases, and other decorative items. Cloisonne History Cloisonné was first developed in central Europe by the Huns, and it spread to the rest of the Germanic peoples, achieving these peoples high quality objects, such as fibulae, brooches and sword fittings. It spread then into the Byzantine Empire and from t along the Silk Road to China. Chinese cloisonné is probably the most well known and ubiquitous. Russian cloisonné from the Tsarist era is highly prized by collectors. Chinese cloisonné is sometimes confused with Canton enamel, a similar type of enamel work that is painted on freehand and does not utilize partitions to hold the colors separate.
