From a local estate sale, here is a very old cigarette advertising sign for Clown Cigarettes, the primary brand of a company called Axton-Fisher of Louisville, Kentucky. They were introduced in 1920 and were made until the 1930's. This sign is made of heavy grade paper and was produced by John Inelstroem Co. "Duckine" of Massillon, Ohio. It measures 33.5" long by 15.75" high. It looks to have been folded into three parts at some point and there is a tear in one that runs a good ways down. You can see the tears in the photos. Despite the tears, when laid flat or mounted on some foam board the sign still has a great look. I would suggest mounting it....perhaps on a sturdy piece of mat board or even a tick piece of foam board.Really a nice addition to any tobacciana collection. The graphics have a nice flow to them as it reads "CLOWN CIGARETTES 20 for 15c" and then in a wobbly script, "A Balanced Blend." Winner to pay a flat fee of $8 for shipping via USPS Priority Mail to anywhere in the country. The sign will be folded into three the same way as it sat for more than 70 years. Thanks for stopping by!
